ASHBURTON CENTENARIAN
P.A. ASHBURTON, this day. Francis Orlando Berkett, who died at Ashburton on Thursday, was 101 years of age. Born in Nelson in 1844, Mr. Berkett followed various occupations, chiefly labouring in many parts of the South Island. He came from Hororata last March. He was remarkably active for his age. He leaves one daughter.
