COMBINED HUNT MEETING

The final sprints for the Combined Hunts' meeting were run under good winter track conditions at Awapunl this morning, the best effort on the plough being five furlongs by Rara Avis (Waddell), which ran the distance alone in 1.6 1-5, the first two in 20 l-ss. Royal Greek and Magnus Lux finished on terms in 1.6 2-5, the first three in 40 2-ss. Magnus Lux looks particularly well.
Roto Parera, which bears an improved appearance, finished on slightly better than Treasure Tee in 1.6 3-5, the first two in 20 2-ss.
The steeplechaser, Extra, with a big weight up, impressed by running his five comfortably in 1.9 1-5. Tribal Night, after taking 14 2-5s for the first furlong, finished strongly to complete half a mile in 54 4-ss. Solver and Swift Jay went fast, to scamper home from the three in 395, Killeymoon taking 40 3-5s after a slow start. Blanket ran the last three of five furlongs in 40s. going well. Foxbridge Bay and Ideation finished together over half a mile on the course proper in 555, the first furlong taking 15s. Atoma, from a flat-footed start, scampered home from the three in 'i 0 l-ss, and looks very fit.
The only schooling was done by Dunvegan (W. Jenkins), which gave a smart display of fast jumping over four of the big fences, including the double. » The half brother to Skerryvore looks a promising sort. The weather prospects are good for to-morrow.
