SMALL LAD OF TO-DAY
There's someone crawls in Nanna's bed Each morning at six; There's someone who keeps getting Nan's bedclothes in a fix; Who runs to Auntie Mary Without his socks or shoes. To get chocolates or peppermints, Whichever he should choose; Who plays" with the kitten And pulls it by the tail, And tries to make a horse Of a dreamy garden snail; Who pretends to be'a dog And holds the paper in his mouth; Who hides daddy's slippers t .. ?Neath the sittingroom couch. There's someone into mischief, No matter what you say, Who never could behave himself— The-small lad of to-day. .•>■ •„ —Doris King, 15 (original).
