THIRTY-EIGHT SPEAKERS
PROGRESS WITH DEBATE Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, this day. Three members of the Cabinet, the Minister of Works, Mr. Semple, the of Health, Mr. Nordmeyer, Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Roberts, were among the eleven speakers in the House of Representatives in the Address-in-Reply debate yesterday. Thirty-eight members have now taken part in the debate, which was continued this morning. Early in the evening session the new member for Hamilton. Mrs. Hilda Ross, made her maiden speech. Before beginning she received encouraging applause from the House. She spoke on the initial ordeal through which every member had to go, and declared feelingly that if they felt half as nervous as she did, it was a comfort.

Mrs. Ross, who spoke confidently for almost a full half-hour, explained that instead of recounting points on which she different from the Government she would like to mention matters in which she was particularly interested.. '
