HIGH COMMISSIONER
ONEHUNGA RECEPTION PLANS
With the object of deciding the nature of the presentation to be made to Mr W. J. Jordan, High. Commissioner in London and M.P. for Onehunga from 1922 to 1935, who arrive next month on six months holiday, a representative meeting of Onehunga citizens was held in the R.S.A. Hall last evening. The Mayor, Mr. A. Garside, stated that the Borough Council had decided to tender Mr. Jordan a civic reception on a Saturday afternoon, the date of which would be announced Several suggestions were advanced with respect to the presentation, and a committee consisting of the Mayor, Messrs. W. Pickering, H. Jones, T. H. Ashe, H. Wells, C. Williams, F. Warrington and Mesdames P. baker and W. Pickering, was set up to deal with the matter.
