With no extensions of time being granted beyond the customary half hour allowed for each member, good progress is being made with the Address-in-Reply debate in the House* of Representatives. ■:
When the adjournment was taken last night until this afternoon, 27 speakers had : taken part hii the debate. Twelve speeches were heard yesterday, including the maiden effort of Mr. G. R. Herron (Nat.), who was successful in the Awarua-by-election last year to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Brigadier J. Hargest..
When he appeared in the House for a short time in- the afternoon — his first appearance .sinceahis return from the World. Security Conference at : San Francisco—the Prime Minister, Mr. was welcomed by the Leader of the, "Opposition, Mr. Holland, who said-he was giad to note that in 'which Mr. Fraser had given in Wellington on the previous evening he had lost none of His fire and enthusiasm. Regardless of political affiliations, they recoghisedtthat Mr. Fraser was the leader of the country and they were glad to see him back again in such good health. .> • •. •■.
