CONVERSION CHARGE
OFFENDER SENT TO GAOL
Sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed by Mr. J. Morling, S.M., in the Police Court to-day on Clifford Noel Taylor, aircraftman, aged 22, who was charged with unlawfully converting to his own use a motor cycle valued at £25. Senior-Detective J. J. Trethewey said" accused was stationed at Swanson. He removed the motor cycle from there on June 26 at 6 p.m. He was seen in possession of it by a traffic "inspector, but made good his escape. Later, when seen by a detective, he admitted taking the cycle, and that he was the man seen by the traffic inspector. Accused had been before the Court on previous occasions. In sentencing accused the magistrate said he could not pass the matter over by a fine or probation, but he would take into consideration the overseas serv-'ce of Taylor.
