Rec. 12.30 p.m

BERLIN, July 9

Russians found German High Command documents in Hitler's Chancellery revealing that Hitler in February, 1942, ordered the invasion of Sweden. Luftwaffe squadrons prepared in Norway and Denmark. Forty-five army divisions were assigned the task under the command of von Bock. The campaign was estimated to last five to eight weeks, but the order to attack was never given beeause, ten days before the final meeting of the General Staff was called, information was received that the. Swedish Cabinet had hurriedly met and ordered mobilisation. The German High Command, hearing this, convinced Hitler that the invasion could not succeed without drawing off valuable forces from other fronts. It can now be revealed that the ex-Mayor of Reilzig, Dr. Goerdler, sent a messenger to Sweden. Goerdler participated in the plot against Hitler in July, 1944.
