LAND AND HOUSES
AGENTS' PROBLEMS Their problems, especially in relation to the rehabilitation of exservicemen, were aired bv members of the Auckland branch Sf the Real Estate Institution of New Zealand, Inc., before Mr. P. Hackett, M.P., at a luncheon meeting of the institute to-day. Mr. Hackett referred to the need of eliminating black marketing in real estate sales, and suggested that imprisonment instead of fines should be the punishment meted out to offenders.
He also promised to ask the Minister of Rehabilitation to answer an urgent question in the House on Thursday in respect of the application of section 51 of the Land Sales Act, with reference to a vendor's right to withdraw a property from sale. A number of proposals for easing the housing and rehabilitation problems were put forward by members of the institute.
