CUSTOMS REVENUE
AUCKLAND RECEIPTS DECREASE THIS MONTH A decrease in Customs revenue of £64,546 is shown in the receipts in Auckland this month, as compared with June, 1944. The revenue collected totalled £693,385, as compared with £757,931 for the corresponding month last year.
Returns for the month with those for June, 1944, in parentheses are:— Customs, £184.518 (£243,641); excise on beer, £36,108 (£34,226); sales tax, £118,325 (£121,540); War Expenses Account, £354,434 (£358,524).
For the six months this year the figures are:—Customs, £1,274,583 (£1,316,968); excise en beer, £226,148 (£241,670); sales tax, £672,509 (£651,662); War Expenses Account, £2,022,767 (£1,965,241).
