Target For Super Fortresses On Honshu FOURTH ATTACK IS WEEK Rec. 1 p.m. WASHINGTON, June 29. The Twentieth Air Force announced that a medium force of Super Fortresses attacked the Kudamatsu oil refinery at Fukuyama, on the southwestern tip of Honshu, late to-day. It was the fourth attack within a week against the Japanese homeland.
„ The Associated Press Guam correspondent says that returning pilots reported large fires at Nobeoka and Okayama. Clouds obstructed observations of results at Sasebo and Moji. Interceptors 'were encountered and flak was intense over Moji.
Tokyo radio said that 150 Super Fortresses also attacked Kanoya, in southern Kyushu.
Well over 3000 tons' of incendiary bombs, including the jellied petrol type, were dropped on the targets in yesterday's attack on four Japanese cities. Eighteen Japanese cities have now been attacked with incendiary bombs.
