SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT

AMBULANCE DELAY ALLEGED

P 4.. GREYMOUTH, this day. Mr Douglas McPherson, single, a miner, and Mr. Lionel Page, married, both of Waiuta, were injured early this morning by a fall of stone. Both men were admitted to the Inangahua Hospital. Employees of the Blackwater mine held a stopwork meeting arid decided to cease work as a protest against alleged delay in the arrival of the ambulance at Waiuta. It was stated that the accident occurred at 3 o'clock and the ambulance did not reach Waiuta from Reefton, 27 miles distant, until 8.30 a.m.
