PAPAKURA DRAINAGE
"I think it is time an engineer was asked to report upon our drainage," said Mrs. B. A. Knight at a meeting of the Papakura Borough Council. "Every member of the council should be ashamed of himself because of the lack of proper drainage in the borough."
Letters were received from two residents complaining of the lack of drainage in Papakura. The Mayor, Mr. S. Evans, said he agreed that drainage was one of the most important matters to be attended to' as soon as the war was over, and it was one of Papakura's rehabilitation schemes. The Works Department was working out the cost, and the work had been promised priority over everything else. /
