STALIN'S NEW RANK
Rec. 11.30 a.m. LONDON, June 27. Moscow radio reports that Marshal Stalin has been promoted to the rank of Generalissimo by order of the Supreme Soviet. _ The presidium of the Supreme Soviet created the title Generalissimo by and then made the statement that the title would be conferred on Marshal Stalin for exceptional and outstanding service to the State in leadeiship of all the armed forces during the war.
