OVER THE RADIO
WEATHER FORECASTS P.A. WELLINGTON, this day. Restrictions on broadcasting weather forecasts which were imposed as a security measure have now been lifted, announced the Minister of Defence. Mr. Jones. Urgent steps are being taken to restore the facilities formerly available, and it is anticipated the weather broadcasts will commence during the first week in July, or sooner if the necessary preliminary arrangements can be made earlier, the Minister said. Realising that the reintroduction of the weather forecast will be appreciated by the public, -particularly farming and shipping interests, the Government is pleased that the improved war situation has made this istep possible.
