It is officially announced that food stocks in the British zone of occu-' pied Germany will by winter be 4,000,000 tons short of meeting the average ration demands of German .civilians, reports the Associated' Press correspondent at the Twentyfirst Army Group headquarters. In consequence the policy originally adopted, that Germany must feed herself, has been moderated and negotiations are now going on for the importation of a • limited amount of food into Germany.
