RUBBER COMPANY'S PLAN
FACTORY IN UPPER HUTT PA. WELLINGTON, Friday. The Dunlop Rubber Co. has been negotiating for some months for a site at Wallaceville, Upper Hutt. London representatives of the company have been in consultation with the Upper Hutt Borough Council, which has now approved of ,the establishment of a factory on a 41acre site. Subject to the permission of the Railway Department, a railway siding will be constructed from the main line to the factory, coming out at Blenheim Street.
The company fhas still to secure a permit to build from the building controller. The proposed factory will employ 400 to 500 hands.
