AUCKLAND TROTTING
SEPTEMBER STAKES £5550
The first trotting meeting in the new season in Auckland will not be held until September 15, instead of August 25, as previously intended. The change has been made so as to avoid clashing with the Metropolitan meeting at Adding ton, and it is anticipated that a number of Southern horsea will make the trip north to compete for the substantial prize-; money (£5550) which has been allocated by the Auckland committee for its fixture, The principal event on the September programme will be the September Handicap, one mile and a half, 3.24 class, for a stake of £1250, while the Takanint Handicap, chief sprint, 2.48 class, will be worth £750. Other events are:—lntroductory Handicap (trottere), 3.45 class, £500; Improvers', 3.40, or not better than 3.39, £500; United, 4.48, £630; Royal Oak (troterg), 8.39, £650; Orakel, 3.29, £730; Massey Memorial, 3.38, or not better than 3.85. A Matinee meeting will be held on September 1, when several hundred pounds will be distributed In stakes, each event or division 'twine' worth £150. The limits will be 3.49 «r not tetter than 3.47 for trotters; 4.43, or not better than 3.41, pacers; and 3.24 for a trophy race. In the event of any alteration to the handicapping system, the committee reserves the right to alter the programme so as to meet new conditions.
