FARMHAND KILLED
STRUCK A NARROW BRIDGE P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, this day. A farmhand, James Clark, of Kaikoura, died in the Amuri hospital this morning from severe head injuries received when he was struck by a car while crossing the Waiau bridge on his way to Culyerden last evening. He was driving a horse and cart, and when he saw the car coming on the one-way bridge he left the cart, which had no lights, and went ahead to warn the car driver.
