HEAVY BLOWS AT JAPS
N.Z. AIRMEN'S OFFENSIVE B.N.Z-A.F. Official News Service BOUGAINVILLE, June 21. A total of 67 New Zealand Corsairs to-day struck heavy blows at a large Japanese concentration at the Uguimo River, near the Kara airstrip. Squadron-Leader J. R. Court, Auckland, smoked the target, and the aircraft scored excellent coverage with bombs of all types and sizes. Apart from huts seen to have been destroyed full observation of the results was impossible because of bomb smoke and jungle. The main activity on the land front during the past two days has been confined to patrolling.
