VALUE QUESTIONED
PLANNING COUNCIL. The value of the Auckland Regional Planning Council was questioned by members of the Seddon Memorial Technical College Board of Managers yesterday/ A report from the principal, Mr. G. J. Park, stated that the board had been placed on the committee for public health, housing, education and recreation.
Mr. F. C. Pace said that the work of the council seemed to cut across that of the Cultural League and the Youth Council, as well as the Town Planning Committee. The planning, council seemed to be a Governmental organisation. Other members mentioned the possibility of work being duplicated by the new body. It was decided to send Miss B. E. Carnachan as an observer to the planning council's next meeting.
