A SMART HURDLER

GOOD FUN IMPRESSES

LOCAL HORSES FOR TRENTHAM

Although Good Fun has not raced since she won the Hobsonville Hurdiat at the Avondale meeting last April, no fault can be found with her condition. She is doing a solid preparation under Geo. Jenkins' supervision at Ellerslie, and has been regularly . schooled over hurdles, jumping attractively on each occasion. When the daughter of Nightly scored at the Avondale meeting, she registered one of the easiest wins over hurdles seen at headquarters for some time, and the fact that Ramillies and Good Armour filled the minor places certainly warrants her future being highly assessed. Good Fun will contest hurdle events at the Wellington meeting, to be held at Trentham next month. , The latest track efforts of Colonel Dink indicate that the five-year-old son of Dink is an improved horse as the result of his two outings at the Great Northern meeting. He is due to make his next appearance in hack events at Wellington, and judged on his third to Chung Chong and The Fake ill the First Fitzroy Handicap on June> 4, more money should be in store for him at Trentham. With Sir Dingle, Broiedame and Dies Faustus to represent him at Trentham, the Ellerslie trainer, F. E.- McManemin, should get his share of stake money. The horses mentioned are in solid racing condition, and, if capable of handling the heavy track, conditions usually encountered at Trentham, they should put up creditable performances. The local sprinter, Tiger Tan, is due to leave for Trentham next Thursday to carry out his engagements at the winter meeting. The Cambria Park gelding has been showing his customary speed on the track and it wSI not be for lack of condition if he fails to pay expenses on the trip.
