PEOPLE OF CRETE
R.S.A. AND RECOGNITION Special Reporter WELLINGTON, this day. The annual council of the New Zealand R.S.A. yesterday considered a proposal from Dunedin suggesting that the Government be urged to make an early decision as to what form of national recognition should be made to the people of Crete for their magnificent assistance to the New Zealand forces while they were on the island. It was stated that, in response to an inquiry, the Under-Secretary of Internal Affairs advised Dunedin that the question of some tangible recognition in the light of the Second N Z.E.F. connection with Crete was at present before the Government.
