LEAGUE FOOTBALL
MATCH WITH WELLINGTON Arrangements for a representative match against Wellington at Auckland on July 21 were discussed at a meeting of the Board of Control of the Auckland Rugby League last evening. The chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, - said that 20 players had been chosen to train at Wellington. Trial matches were to be played, and every effort would be made put a good team in the field. A request from the Glenora Club for a senior match at Glen Eden this season was deferred.
The board decided to thank Mr. A. Stormont for a gift of acmena trees to beautify Carlaw Park, and Mr. D. Stormont for a gift of £10 10/ for the same purpose. Fixtures for next Saturday are: North Shore v. Ponsonby, Carlaw Park No. 1, 1.45, Mr. S. Billman; Otahuhu v. Newton, Carlaw Park No. 2, 1.45, Mr. H. Hobman; Richmond v. Marist, Carlaw Park No. 1, 3 p.m., Mr. J. O'Shannessey; City v. Mount Albert, Carlaw Park No. 2, 3 p.m., Mr. J. Hawkes; Pt. Chevalier v. Manukau, Pt. Chevalier, 3 p.m., Mr. H. Tate.
