OBITUARY

Mft. F. K. ABERCKOMBIE A l Ji-mer-Collector of Customs at Auckland, Mr. Frederic Norman Abercrombie, has died at the age of 60. He joined the Customs Department as a cadet at Auckland in 1902. After service at Wellington and Nelson, he returned to Auckland In 1012 as an examining officer. He w as transferred to the head office at Welllngr--1 ton In 1625, and In 1938 was appointed Collector at Auckland. He retired last February. Mr. Abercrombie was a well known Vootballer In his younger years. He was a foundation member of the Takapuna Boating Club, and the originator of the Z class of yachts. He is survived by his wife and one daughter.
