p.A. MARTON, Sunday. The combined meeting of the Ashhurst Racing Club and the Marton Jockey Club was held yesterday in wintry weather. The track was very heavy. The totalisator handled £30,641. Late results were:— HANDICAP HURDLES of £250, one mile and a half.—2-1 RED GLARE, 10.5 (W. Jenkins), 1; 4-3 FLYING SPY, 10.12 (P. Waaka), 2; 1-2 HUNTING MAC, 10.9 (R. Howard), 3. NOT FOR NORTHERN •CHASER RETURNING HOME The Great Northern Steeplechase candidate Khurja, which fell at the final fence in the Te Rapa Steeplechase on Saturday, injured a hind leg, necessitating veterinary attention. The injury may keep him off the tracks for the best part of a month, and so it was decided to return him to Hawke s Bay. AUCKLAND REHANDICAPS Rehandicaps for the Auckland Racing Club's winter meeting have been declared by Mr. F. J. McManemin as follow:— Great Northern Hurdles.—Moderate, 21b, making 11.0. Cornwall Handicap.—La Fillette, 41b, making 7.11. MEETING POSTPONED p.A. TIMARU. Sunday. The South Canterbury Jockey Club was obliged to postpone its winter meeting Yesterday on account of inclement weather. Application has been made to hold the meeting ne?ct Saturday.
