MALACCA ACTION
DESTROYER SAUMAREZ HIT LONDON. May 20. The sinking, in the Malacca Strait, of ths Japanese 10,000 ton cruiser of the Nati class by a force of British destroyers last week is described by the Admiralty as a swift and gallant action. The attacking force was led by the destroyer The British shins suffered extremely little damage. The most, damage was caused to the Saumarez, which came under one of the enemy's broadsides. Her casualties were two killed and three wounded.
