GERMAN PORTS

CLEARING OF MINEFIELDS British Official Wireless Rec. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, May 20. British minesweepers operating from Cuxhaven are now clearing the Elbe and the approaches to Hamburg, says a Supreme Headquarters correspondent. The entrances to Wilhelmshaven, Kiel, Bremerhaven and Wesermunde have already been cleared of mines. Kiel Canal is free of obstructions and is believed to be free of mines, but German minesweepers under Allied control are sweeping it as a precaution. Large quantities of ammunition were found in the Cuxhaven area.
