TEACHER RETIRES
TAKAPUNA GRAMMAR
Miss W. M. Hunt, who for health "easons has retired from the teaching profession,! was farewelled by the staff and pupils of Takapuna Grammar School. In making the presentations, the head prefect, Betty Leather, and the neadmaster, Mr. IC. J< Dellow, made eulogistic references to the fine work done by Miss Hunt during her 17 years' service at the school. As a mark of appreciation the Ex-pupils' Association also held a social function in her honour ancj presented her with an inscribed week-end bag. , , a As a former hockey and tennis "Blue" of Otago University and representative player of Otago, South Canterbury and Wellington Provinces, Miss Hunt has done valuable work as coach for school teams and has also assisted in orchestral, dramatic and other activities. Miss Hunt has taught in several primary and secondary schools . throughout the Dominion, including Palmerston North High School, Warkworth District High School and Wanganui Girls' College. Miss Hunt will make her future home in Wellington.
