MANY BRAVE ACTS
BADLY WOUNDED SOLDIERS TRIBUTE PAID BY PADRE All padres to whom he had spoken were unanimous concerning the bravery shown by British troops and ' New Zealanders who were wounded and had to be evacuated to regirriental aid posts or to advanced dressing stations, said the Rev. P. C. S Sergei, of Hamilton, who served as a chaplain to Middle East Forces for three years. He explained that while units were in action padres were generally at the regimental aid posts or advanced dressing stations ministering to the spiritual needs of the men. The bravery shown by British ana New Zealand troops was amazing. He had seen acts by seriously wounded men that should have earned a decoration. The attitude of wounded Germans and Italians was in sharp contrast, for they generally "squealed" hard while awaiting attention.
