OPPONENT FOR MR. BEVIN Rec. 1 p.m. LONDON, April 22. The Conservatives have selected Brigadier J. *G. ." Smyth/ V.G., to oppose Mr. Ernest Bevin in the general election. Brigadier Smyth served at Dunkirk and in Burma befora retiring from the army because of illh^aHh.
