BRITISH M.P.'S RETURN Conditions Were Unbelievably Terrible N.Z. Press Association—Copyright Rec. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, April 22. The British members of Parliament who have returned to London after an inspection of the Buchenwald and other concentration camps in Germany, describe the camp conditions as unbelievably terrible and say that there has been no exaggeration in the reports already published. They are reporting to the Speaker of the House of Commons, Colonel Clifton Brown, later in the week. Some members of the delegation complained that they were not allowed sufficient time in which to inspect the Buchenwald camp. The inmates of one hut erected a large sign reading: "The German prisoners of Buehenwald welcome their friends." , x . The party spoKe to some of the former prisoners in hospital and visited the barracks where 900 boys are being cared for. One of the delegates? Mrs. Mavis Tate, who speaks German, heard from a 14-year-old Polish Jew about the socalled "medical inspection. He told her bow the prisoners tnea to
hide when the camp doctor was coming as those paraded and passed as sick would just be marched on to the crematorium. . Three members of the united States Congress, including Mrs. Clare Booth Luce, went round with the British party. Following an invitation from General Eisenhower, nine members of the United States Congress and 17 leading editors and publishers will soon fly to Europe to obtain first-hand evidence of Nazi atrocities.
