RETURN TO NORMAL
MUSIC EXAMINATIONS Word has been received by the New Zealand secretary of the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music, Mr. E. C. Cachemaille, that Dr. C. S. Lang and Mr. Eric Grant will visit New Zealand as examiners this year. "These gentlemen are already in Canada and South Africa respectively so that it is -unlikely that their travel to New Zealand will prove very difficult," says Mr. Cachemaille. "This is a most fortunate "return to pre-war conditions, and it will probably be possible to hold examinations in all New Zealand centres at the normal dates." Dr. C. S. Lang has not previously visited New Zealand as examiner, but he is a New Zealander by birth. He has been music master at Clifton College and organist and director of music at Christ's Hospital (the Blue Coat School). He has published cantatas for chorus and orchestra, church services, ~ piano and violin pieces. Mr. Eric Grant'came to New Zealand as examiner in 1938, when he conducted examinations in the South Island only, afterwards accepting an appointment at the University of Capetown.
