CANADIAN CABINET Seven New Appointments To : Face Election !Rec. 11.30 a.m. OTTAWA, April IS. :: The Canadian Prime Minister, Mr. Mackenzie King, at a Press conference, announced the resignation of five members of his Cabinet and the appointment of seven new Ministers. Those who..■.•■resigned are the Navy Minister, Mr; Angus Macdonald; Minister >of Mines and Resources, Mr, Alexander Crerar; Minister of Transport, .Mr; Joseph E. Michaud; Secretary-- of-.State. Mr. N. A; MeLarty; and the ■ Minister of War Services, Major-General Geo. Lafleche. The new Ministers are:—The Speaker, Mr. Glen, will be Minister of Mines and Resources; Mr. Joseph Jean, Solicitor-General; Mr. Lionel Chevrier, Minister of Transport;' Mr. Paul Martin, Secretary of State; Mr. Douglass Abbott, Minister of the Navy; Dr. J. J. McC'ann, Minister of .War; Servic.es;'. and Mr. Laurence ' Minister of National Revenue. The, Cabinet reorganisation arose from ' the necessity of replacing several Ministers who had announced their intention of retiring from public life and the need for a full Cabinet before the Federal election on June 11.
