Aerial Scott Sold For 525 Guineas
BY his speed and stamina in winning the New Zealand Trotting Stakes, Aerial Scott showed that he was well worth the 525gns Mr. J. Spiers paid for him at Mr. J. R. McKenzie's sale of two-year-olds at Roydon Lodge last May. Aerial Scott has developed into a sturdy gelding, and although he may not be judged the equal of Certissimus, he has everything about him that goes to make high-class trotters. Despite, the fact that he made a break at the start and again before he had covered two furlongs, he showed himself of good disposition, and with race experience and travelling he should be a valuable addition to the trotter's section. Bred On American Lines Aerial' Scott is bred on the best American lines, both his sire, U. Scott, and his dam, Airflow, being members of prominent families of trotters. Both horses were imported from America by Mr. McKenzie. Although U. Scott won many races in this country as a pacer, he was trained as a trotter in America, where he took a record of 2.11 when he was two years old. Airflow is by Guy Day, a horse that measured up to Hambletoniau Stakes standard, while lier dam, Willina Chenault, was a descendant of Peter the Great, which was world's champion trotting sire for many years. Airflow was a first-class trotter, winning many races for Mr. McKenzie. Her record of 3.18 2-5 for a mile and a half is evidence of her I quaifications.
