WOMAN NOMINEE

NATIONAL PARTY BALLOT THE HAMILTON BY-ELECTION O.C.- HAMILTON, this day. Mrs. H. C. Ross, deputy-Mayor of Hamilton, has acceded to the request of a deputation to allow her name to go forward to the selection ballot for National party representation at the by-election, which has been caused by the death of Mr. F. Findlay, M.P. for Hamilton. The Mayor, Mr. H. D. Caro, presided when the deputation met Mrs. Ross. A deputation also met Mr. W. J. King, who reluctantly declined nomination ir. the National party interests as war conditions made it impossible to sever his connections with his legal business. Labour party nominations close at 5 p.m. to-morrow and those of the National party next Monday.
