CLOSING DOWN OF CLUB

The decision of the Government House Services Club committee to close the club as from April 22 is to be adhered to, according to a statement by the Mayor, Mr. Allum. Referring to protests which had been made against the closing of the club, Mr. Allum said it was gratifying to know that those who. had used the club had appreciated it so much. There was no justification, however, for running a large organisation for relatively few people who would be well looked after by other patriotic organisations in the city.
