A SHORTAGE OF CABLE Over 400 houses in Auckland were without electric power, because of the shortage of service cable, said the general manager of the Auckland Electric Power Board, Mr. R. H. Bartley, at a meeting of the board yesterday. Mr. Bartley added that the board had ordered cable some times ago, and that as soon as supplies were available work would be resumed in connecting houses to the electric supply system.
