KILLED BY FALL OF COAL

LEAGUE FOOTBALL CAPTAIN GREYMOUTH, Monday. Caught under a fall of coal at noon to-day, a miner died later in the Greymouth Hospital. He was Mr. Raymond James Hobbs, aged 24, single, of Smith Street, Greymouth. Mr. Hobbs, who was born at Bellfield, South Canterbury, was a wellknown Rugby League footballer and captained the recently formed Kohinoor club in its first match against Marist at the week-end. Last year he represented West Coast as a forward.
