TEN SENIOR TEAMS
OPENING DRAW MADE I The ten senior teams which played in the Auckland Rugby League's senior championship last year will take part in the League senior championship during the coming season. When the Board of Control met last evening, the chairman, Mr. J. W. Watson, who presided, said that there was every indication of a good season, the number of new registrations being a record. The following draw was made (or the opening of the season on April 14:—Richmond v. Point Chevalier, Carlaw Park, No. 2, 1.30 p.m.; North Shore v. Manukau, Carlaw Park, No. 2, 3 pjn.; City v. Marlst, Carlaw Park, No. 1, 1.30 p.m.; Mount Albert v. Otahumi, Carlaw Park, No. 1, 3 p.m.; Newton v. Ponsonby, ground to be arranged. New Players The following new players were registered:— A. V. Wiles, S. Rosewame, C. I. Copies, A. L. Caples, A. J. Couper, R. A. Neary, R. P. Smyth, J. T. Loza, D. W. Padlle, Mount Albert; T. Hira, B. Morris, S. Leefe, P. Habib, W. Webster, P. Sullivan, T. Timoko, P. Warren, D. Collier, R. E. Kirk, Manukau; H. T. Strickland, D. R. Ryan, Richmond; W. Graham, City. Referees' Officials The Referees' Association advised that the following officials had been elected: —President, Mr. L. E. Bull; vice-president, Mr. J. O. McCowatt; secretary, Mr. T. E. Skinner; treasurer, Mr. R. Otto; delegate to Auckland Rugby League, Mr. T. Mlncham; delegate to Junior Control Board, Mr. J. Short; delegate to School Control Board, Mr. J. Cottingham; delegate to New Zealand Referees' Association, Mr. L. E. Bull; auditor, Mr. P. Rodgers; critic, Mr. A. Saunders; executive committee, Messrs. J. Hawkes, E. Pope, G. Kelly; appointment board, Mr. P. Rogers; examination committee, Messrs. M. Renton and T. Tracey; social committee, Messrs. S. Billman, K. Otto, T. Mincham, J. Cottingham, J. Hawkes. An application from the City Club for life membership of Mr. E. K. Asher, who has been prominent In the code for many years, was held over. Advice was received that the district building controller had not approved oi an application in connection with proposed Improvements to the main entrance gates at Carlaw Park, but was prepared to approve of work to make the existing ticket boxes structurally safe and weatherproof. The matter was referred to a sub-committee.
