PLAY ON THE RINKS

BOWLERS' IDEAL WEATHER

Veteran Arthur Parsons Returns To Form In Easter Fours: Keen Competition On Excellent Greens: Second Day's Play

Ideal weather, exceeding all expectations, was a feature of Ine Easter tournament of the Auckland Bowling Centre, which was continued to-day. The greens were in excellent condition, and the perfect weather allowed the three rounds for the day to be played with clock-like regularity. The day's play ended with a number of the 230* teams having gone through the six rounds of the tournament played to date without a loss. Among the others who are doing well is the veteran, Arthur Parsons, who was champion of champions in 1921 and 1923, but has never won the Easter tournament. In the present tournament he won five straight, only to suffer a loss in the last round of the day. The organisation of the tournament worked smoothly. Credit for this is due to the executive of the Auckland Bowling Centre, and particularly to the indefatigable secretary, Mr. W. King. The remaining three rounds of the tournament will be played en Monday, and post-section play will begin on Tuesday. The Carlton and Mount Eden greens will be used fqr this purpose.

At the conclusion of to-day's play the following skips were undefeated: Easter fouz-s: Skoglund (Otahuhu), Wilson (Mount Eden), Delich (Carlton) and Williams (Onehunga R.S.A.). Intermediate fours: Gugish. (Grey Lynn), Grinter (Auckland). Williams' wins to-day have all been on the last end. EXECUTIVE FOURS Following are the afternoon's results:— SECTION I.—At Carlton.
