IN FIVE MINUTES

BATTLEFIELD TO HOSPITAL

Rec. 1.30 p.m. LONDON, March 22. For the first time in the European theatre a low-flying troop-carrier today snatched a glider filled with casualty patients from the Remagen bridgehead, thus inaugurating a newshuttle service for evacuating wounded men from front line areas. Glider evacuation has been previously carried out in India and Burma. The new service will evacuate about 450 wounded daily. They will be in hospital five minutes after leaving the bridgehead.
