MAUNGAKIEKIE GOLF
PROGRESS WITH NEW COURSE The rapid progress which has been made with the construction of the Maungakiekie golf club s new course at Mount Albert was discussed with much satisfaction at the annual mretng last night. It was reported that certain modifications of the original layout by the English architects had been approved and carried out with excellent results. The tees and ' greens have been lomed and are ready for surfacing and sowing, while some of the fairways "are also ready for grassing. The erection of the clubhouse had created so™e 'difficulty, as it is not desired to erect anything which will not be of a peimanent nature. It is anticipated that the course will be ready for next season. Last year's officers were reelected and the season will open to-morrow in conjunction with the Akarana club's opening.
