COMMERCE CHAMBER
JUNIORS' NEW OFFICERS An appeal to members to take a more active part in the affairs of the Auckland Junior Chamber of Commerce was made by the retiring chairman, Mr. B. C. Bell, at the annual meeting of the chamber yesterday. The work of the chamber, said Mr. Bell, was left in the hands of a few members. There was plenty of work to do and, in view of the fact that the future would be largely in the hands of youth, it was the duty of all members to take a responsible part in the affairs of the chamber. It was hoped to introduce a new club in Auckland to cater for the younger businessmen, said the speaker. The promoters were hopeful of obtaining premises which would allow for the installation of a first-class dining room, a lounge and recreational and other facilities. The election of officers resulted:—Junior board: Messrs. K. Cohen, F. Coker, W. Gladding, W. G. Hopkins, H. C. Jameson, J. Johnstone, A. Porter, D. R. Sheath, D. G. Stotter, A. Winstone; junior advisory council: Messrs. T. C. Jary, R. Kendon, R. K. Land, W. Maddren, A. J. Martin, R. Poole, J. J. Railton, P. J. Stanway, F. Vaughan, K. Wade, B. H. Walton, A. Winter. Other officers: Chairman, Mr. J. Glennie; senior vice-chairman, 'Mr. A. H. Winstone; junior vice-presidents, Messrs. R. D. Ely and F. Cooper.
