The easier trend in Bank of New Zealand ordinary shares this week was further accentuated on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day when bids were lowered to £2 6/6 and sellers followed the movement to £2 7/3. Other banking Issues were firm, and offers for E.S. and A.'s were raised to £4 12/, in conformity with the lifting of the ceiling price in Sydney, recent bids here beir.g at £4 6/6. South British Insurances, iri sympathy with the firming in New Zealand Insurances late yestei-day, advanced to £3 19/. the highest figure for six months. Improved quotations for Hadfields Steel were confirmed with a sale 9d up at 11/3. There were more offerings in the Government section, including much-sought 4 per cents.
