KILLED BY RAILCAR
RAILWAY WORKER'S FATE
P.A. PALMERSTON N., this day. While working on the railway bridge at Makerua yesterday, Mr. James Farrell, aged 45, single, of Wellington, was killed by a southbound railcar. Mr. Farrell was lying on the sleepers on the top of the bridge chipping paint and apparently failed to hear the railcar until it was too late to escape. He was carried a good distance and his body was badly mutilated. He was dead when picked up.
