BAYSWATER BUSES
CHANGE IN ROUTE
IF ROAD NOT REPAIRED
The decision of the drivers of the North Shore Transport Co., Ltd., not to operate buses over the road between Belmont and Bayswater until some action has been taken by the lakapuna Borough Council to carry out repair work on that road will be acted upon as from midnight tomorrow. The works committee of the Takapuna Borough Council met last evening to consider the condition of the portion of the road which is the subject of complaint by the drivers. The committee made certain recommendations to the council but. under the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, the nature of such recommendations, it is stated, cannot be disclosed until they have been recs-ived at a meeting of the council. The next meeting of the council is set down for Tuesday. Meanwhile, failing any intimation from the council that it intends to carry out repair work, buses will not operate on the Belmont-Bayswater Koad as from midnight to-morrow. It is pointed out that the drivers will not cease work, but the buses usually driven over the road in question will be diverted to Devonport
