RIFLES OVERBOARD
Rec. 10 a.m. OTTAWA, Feb. 2. The Progressive Conservative leader, Mr. John Bracken, speaking in the Grey North by-election campaign, called on the Minister of Defence, General McNaughton, to tell the "whole sordid story of how home defence troops drafted for overseas threw their rifles and ammunition overboard from their transport." Mr. Bracken called upon General McNaughton to show that a single reinforcement demand sent from Canadian headquarters in London to the Department of National Defence since General McNaughton became Defence Minister had been met to the extent requested.
