EDUCATION BOARD SEAT
MR. W. H. FORTUNE ELECTED
The by-election held in the Auckland urban area to fill the vacancy on the Auckland Education Board caused by the death of Mr. W. J. Campbell, has resulted in the return of Mr. W. H. Fortune. The voting was as follows:—Mr. W. H. Fortune 79, Mr. A. B. Thompson 66, Mrs. F. I. Mcßride 60, Mr. A. E. Reynolds 54, Mrs. M. M. Dreaver 29. The total of valid votes recorded was 228, and eight were rejected as informal.
