BEACH CARNIVAL
A beach carnival was held at Blockhouse Bay on Anniversary Day to raise funds for the community kindergarten. It was estimated that there were 5000 people at the carnival, features of which were coconut shies, treasure hunts, boat rides and pony rides with many other attractions. The beach beauty parade was won by Miss Lorna Russell, who was presented with a silver cup. About £200 was raised.
